THE medicinal Eucalyptus oil, as praised by Australian researchers, Penfold and Morrison in the 1930’s. Excellent for aiding in the relief of many respiratory complaints, expectorant and anti-infectious. Seen as a potential anti-viral essence, Eucalyptus radiata has good ‘toning’ qualities, for boosting our Defensive Qi, the ‘energetic’ aspect of our immune system. The classic Tasmanian Blue Gum oil, as mentioned in most Aromatherapy texts. A new Australian essence, E. staigeriana is a beautiful lemon scented oil, rich in lemon-scented citrals and esters of geraniol. Used in low doses (<1%) it is gently soothing and calming. Blended with citrus oils, it is a good air antiseptic when diffused. |

Also known as Helichrysum or Immortelle, French practitioners have noted the wound healing, scar-reducing and anti-coagulant benefits (as for sprains and bruises) of Everlasting oil. An anti-inflammatory oil, it is useful for muscular pain and temporary pain relief in arthritis and rheumatism; and useful in the treatment of minor skin disorders – wounds, small scars, dermatitis and on. |

Fragonia oil is derived from a ‘Tea Tree’ native to SW Western Australia. The essential oil has a very pleasant aroma, less medicinal than common Tea Tree oil. Containing over 20% of a variety of monoterpene alcohols, a study has shown it has significant anti-bacterial properties as is the case with common Tea Tree and similar uses. Overall, it appears Fragonia is a good toning and stimulating essence. |
